Outside in Kansas City~Nice cool weather 74 degrees, what a relief.

I am thinking~About staying up late and cleaning house.

I am thankful for~The end of a very busy summer and the reflection of joy over the events that occurred.  I’m thankful for the marriage of my son Nicholas to Staci Kok and the opportunity for Taylor to go to Mercer and pursue higher education. I’m thankful for the upcoming blessing of two more grandbabies.  Our first phone call from Taylor since he went to Georgia.  Today was his first day of classes and he had lots of encouraging news.

Nicholas and Staci Campbell

In my kitchen~Unpacked a box of organic fruits and vegetables from Fresh Connect which were delivered to our door today.

I am wearing~Turquoise t-shirt, jeans, surprise….no shoes.

Last creative endeavor~ Cooking, cleaning, laundry…you get the picture.

I am going~To start counting down to December when my husband and I are going on this cruise to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Can’t wait for~ Parent’s Weekend at Dordt College to visit Nicholas and Staci and see their apartment.

Family News~Ginny’s having a boy!!

Current Read~Finished Evidence Not Seen the story of Darlene Diebler Rose, it was so good.  I’m reading Educational Travel on a Shoestring by Judith Waite Allee and Melissa L. Morgan, The New Global Student: Skip the SAT, Save Thousands on Tuition, and Get a Truly International Education by Maya Frost.

I am hearing~Stephen Curtis Chapman on my Pandora station and my husband eating a late dinner after a deacon meeting.

I am hoping~to have a calm September schedule to recover from the business of August.

Around the house~The front of the house is painted but the sides and back still need to be done.  My painter sons have gone so the rest is left to the amateurs, probably not until it cools down.

Simple pleasure~Open back door with cool air coming in and the sounds of the insects in the woods.
