Outside in Kansas City~No snow or ice in sight, a pleasant 40 degrees.

I am thinking~That we had a wonderful holiday season but getting back to normal will be a relief.

I am thankful for~God’s plan for our redemption, family, my hard working husband.

In my kitchen~All is quiet, an abundance of food in the cupboards, we are blessed.

I am wearing~Blue long sleeved Knight’s t-shirt, jeans, slippers.

Last creative endeavor~ Cooking, wrapping, grouting the bathroom floor, shopping.

Pre-Christmas Wrapping Frenzy

I am going~To attend the Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association training tomorrow night.

Can’t wait for~The finalization of our case study so we can submit it to caseworkers for adoption of possible sibling groups like this one.

Family News~Lillian just turned one on December 29th, Nicholas is off for winter break and is visiting friends in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Current Read~ The Dead Don’t Dance by Charles Martin

I am hearing~Commercial on television, front door closing as Brent takes Ruby out for a walk.

I am hoping~To get some exercise and  lose some weight during 2009.

Around the house~The tile in the bathroom turned out great, it is a really pretty “slate look” ceramic tile with greys, greens, and a touch of copper.  We used mocha grout and it looks really good.  Brent and Nicholas also laid carpet tiles in the downstairs and it turned out great.  Brent spent New Year’s Day organizing the garage!

Simple pleasure~A hot cup of chai and a good read.  Two weeks of no school, no sports, holidays off, more time with family and friends a more orderly home with completed household projects.

Plans for the weekend~Vision meeting with the school council on Saturday.  Sunday night birthday party for our beautiful granddaughter Lillian.
