Outside in Kansas City~It is a sunny but cold wintery day with sand and salt on the roads left over from our first real snow/ice event for the season.

I am thinking~That Christmas is way too close and there is soooo much to get done.  My stress levels are rising at this time of year.

I am thankful for~God’s provision, so many people are without jobs right now or very close to losing them.

In my kitchen~All is quiet, clean dishes in the dishwasher need to be put away, I have meals planned for the week and the ingredients ready to go.  What a blessing that is!

I am wearing~Brown tunic shirt, Brown/tan herringbone pants, brown tights.

Last creative endeavor~ No time!  I stubbornly refuse to take this category out with hopes that someday I will actually get to do something creative.

I am going~To stay home all evening, my favorite place.

Can’t wait for~ Chad and Alicia’s party tomorrow night, I’ve been promised homemade Chocolate Eggnog and knowing Alicia other wonderful goodies. Update-the party was fun, delicious food, my daughter is a great cook and the house looked beautiful too.

Family News~We have done every step we possible can for our foster care home study and thought we would be complete within the week. Instead there we found that there were some background checks that were not done so we may be waiting for up to four more weeks to get those results.

Current Read~ Wrapped in Rain A Novel of Coming Home by Charles Martin

I am hearing~Ina Garten The Barefoot Contessa cooking expresso ice cream on the food network.

I am hoping~To finish my Christmas shopping, decorate the tree, stay calm.

Around the house~Brent and Jeremy have prepared one of our two bathrooms for tiling but won’t be able to work on it again until later in the week  so we are down to one bathroom for a while.  I am excited about the new tile and can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Simple pleasure~Hanging out with the grandkids yesterday and today.

Plans for the weekend~Nicholas will be home on Thursday night, school skating party on Friday,  hopefully finishing up the bathroom on Saturday.
